The advantages of telehealth
At Coastal Ear, Nose, and Throat, we understand how important it is during these times to protect our patients from COVID-19. During this pandemic, we find that our essential service can still be difficult to connect with to receive necessary care. Our practice is currently open, but we do have an alternative option to physical doctor visits for some of our patients such as telehealth appointments.
What is a telehealth appointment?
If you are in need of visiting the doctor for a simple follow-up or routine appointment regarding your concerns, you may be a good candidate for our telehealth appointments. During a telehealth appointment, a patient might use a video cellular phone or any type of phone to make a call to our facility and speak to our team. Telehealth eliminates a patient’s need to personally visit the office and have their visit facilitated with one of our team members via audio or video phone calls. If you are interested in a telehealth appointment, we strongly encourage you to call our office and ask to schedule a visit with one of our team members or doctors.
What if I need to personally visit the office?
There are certain situations in which patients may still need to see our doctor physically, such as those who are in need of an actual treatment or require more extensive evaluation that can only be performed by our team. In situations such as these, we advise patients to make note of our COVID-19 office policies:
- All guests are required to wear a face mask in our practice
- We are limiting visitors to the patient only, or one guardian/caretaker per patient
- All patients are screened at our front office with screening questions and a temperature check
- If patients are exhibiting any signs of COVID-19, they are kindly asked to reschedule their visit or book a telehealth appointment when possible
