As audiology clinical supervisor at Coastal Ear, Nose and Throat, Dr. Brad Buchholtz works primarily with adults and older patients experiencing hearing loss, dizziness, and balance problems. He focuses on different types of hearing technologies and helps patients find hearing solutions that fit their individual needs and daily lives.
For Dr. Buchholtz, audiology brings together two fields that are constantly evolving: healthcare and technology. He enjoys keeping pace with new developments and using them to give patients better options for managing changes in their hearing. His experience also extends beyond hearing loss, with advanced training in the evaluation and care of patients affected by tinnitus.
Dr. Buchholtz began his education at The College of New Jersey, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 2001 and a Master of Arts in Audiology in 2003. He received his Doctor of Audiology degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry, School of Audiology in 2006.
He is clinically certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and holds audiology licenses in both New Jersey and New York. Dr. Buchholtz is also licensed to dispense hearing aids in both states.
Dr. Buchholtz specializes in adult and geriatric audiology, with extensive experience evaluating hearing and fitting hearing aids. He works with patients to understand where they are having difficulty hearing and determine which technology can best support them at home, at work, and in conversations with others. He strives to keep up with new trends and research to ensure that patients understand the complexities of the auditory system and its impact on the brain and social function.
