How Do You Treat Sinus Problems and Nasal Disorders?
We'll start with a thorough evaluation of your symptoms and an examination of your face, nose, and sinus structures to assess your condition and decide on the best approach possible, whether that includes medical management or surgery. Treatment options for sinus and nasal problems at Coastal Ear, Nose and Throat include:
- Nasal endoscopy and cultures: A small camera is gently passed through the nose to give our team a closer look at the nasal passages and sinus openings. If needed, a culture can also be collected for lab testing.
- Minimally invasive sinusitis treatment: In many cases, blocked sinuses can be cleared endoscopically, allowing them to drain properly without any external incisions. For some patients, we may recommend balloon sinuplasty, which involves placing a small balloon to widen narrow sinus openings.
- Chronic rhinitis treatment: Chronic rhinitis is often caused by enlarged turbinates (bony structures inside the nose) or overactive nerves. We provide treatment in-office with turbinate reduction surgery or cryoablation to calm the nerves.
- Nasal airway relief: Nasal valve collapse and other structural problems can make it difficult to get enough air through the nose. Depending on the cause, treatment may include an in-office nasal implant or surgical repair to improve airflow.
- Septoplasty: A deviated septum can narrow the nasal airway and contribute to ongoing difficulty breathing through the nose. Septoplasty straightens or repositions the septum to create more room for airflow.
Procedure length and recovery time can vary based on which approach is used. Before moving forward with any treatment, we'll discuss our recommendations and answer any questions you might have.

Sinus Problems Reviews
Had sinus surgery, I could not ask for better results, Dr Silberman did a amazing job, I would recommend anyone that has sinus problems to go here, you won't be disappointed, thank you.
I have been to two ent and were not crazy about them. I will tell you why I highly recommend Dr. Husain. I became a patient of his a little over two years ago and I have been suffering with acute sinus problems for over five years he was very conservative in the beginning he tried to do everything possible before surgery unfortunately that failed my sinuses were so shut closed I was breathing through my mouth constantly I will be honest with you I was very nervous about the procedure I looked up how it was performed and what exactly was going to be done on YouTube.Which I highly advise not to do because it was totally different from the surgery that I experience. Dr. Hussein explain step-by-step he was very sincere and his bedside manners are absolutely wonderful he told me what to expect right after the surgery couple of days after and the upcoming weeks and he was spot on the surgery was absolutely necessary and I felt no pain at all nor did I take any painkillers I was uncomfortable for the first day and every day since that I have been breathing through my nose and able to smell a little bit each day and I know the next couple of weeks is going to get that much better. I highly recommend the surgery I highly recommend going to Dr. Hussain he’s just one of those doctors that you don’t mind going in to see and talking with like I said before very sincere very unique so kind including the staff if you have any questions you can ask him and he will be very honest so please don’t hesitate no longer and make an appointment with Dr. Hussein

Frequently Asked Questions about Sinus Problems and Nasal Disorders
How can you tell if you have a sinus infection?
A sinus infection can cause congestion, facial pressure or pain, thick nasal drainage, post-nasal drip, and a reduced sense of smell. Some people also experience fatigue, headache, dental discomfort, or fever. If symptoms are severe, long-lasting, or don't respond to home care, we recommend scheduling a consultation at Coastal Ear, Nose and Throat to learn how we can help.
What's the difference between a cold and a sinus infection?
A cold usually starts improving within several days, even though some symptoms can last longer. A sinus infection may cause congestion, facial pressure, and thick drainage that persist instead of steadily getting better. Sometimes, a cold can even lead to a sinus infection. If you feel like you have been sick for longer than you should be, or you started recovering and then suddenly feel worse again, an evaluation can help determine what is going on.
When should I see a doctor for sinus or nasal problems?
You do not have to wait until sinus or nasal symptoms become severe to seek care. Consider making an appointment if congestion, drainage, facial pressure, nosebleeds, difficulty breathing through your nose, or changes in smell keep returning or aren't getting better. We also invite you to reach out if sinus problems are affecting your sleep, exercise, work, or other parts of your routine.
How can I manage sinus problems at home?
Staying hydrated, using a humidifier, and using a saline nasal spray or rinse can help you feel more comfortable when symptoms are mild. Avoiding smoke and other things that irritate your nose may also help. If you use a nasal rinse, be sure to use distilled, sterile, or previously boiled and cooled water. While home care can provide relief, you should seek professional treatment if your symptoms are severe or persistent.
How do I get rid of a sinus headache?
A warm compress across the face, plenty of fluids, saline rinses, and appropriate over-the-counter medications can sometimes provide relief from sinus headaches. Keep in mind that a headache that feels like a "sinus headache" is not always caused by the sinuses. If headaches happen frequently, become severe, or do not improve along with your other symptoms, it's worth scheduling an evaluation to discover why.
