A New Jersey native, Dr. Qasim Husain returned to his home state after completing advanced training at several of the country's leading medical institutions. He provides comprehensive care for ear, nose, and throat conditions, with additional expertise in sinus and nasal disorders. His work at Coastal Ear, Nose and Throat includes both medical treatment and surgery, including advanced procedures for patients with complex sinus disease or conditions involving the skull base.
Dr. Husain has authored more than 50 peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters and has presented his work at national and international meetings. His research has focused in part on improving quality of life for people with chronic sinusitis. He has also received numerous academic and professional honors, including a departmental teaching award and the Distinguished House Staff Award at Weill Cornell Medical Center.
Dr. Husain completed an accelerated seven-year BS/MD program at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, graduating from medical school with the highest honors. He was also inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.
He completed his residency in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery through NewYork–Presbyterian Hospital, Columbia and Cornell University, with additional training at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Dr. Husain then completed a fellowship in rhinology at Massachusetts Eye and Ear/Harvard Medical School, where he received advanced training in sinus and skull base surgery. He is board-certified in pediatric and adult otolaryngology.
Dr. Husain treats the full range of ENT conditions, with a particular focus on problems involving the nose and sinuses. His expertise includes chronic sinusitis, nasal obstruction, deviated septums, enlarged turbinates, recurring nosebleeds, snoring, and nasal allergies. He also has advanced surgical training for nasal and skull base tumors, allowing him to care for patients whose conditions require more complex treatment.

The office staff was wonderful and very helpful. Dr. Hussein is extremely knowledgeable and down to earth. He is an excellent listener, very thorough in his examination. I’m a new patient and I took the time to fill out the new patient forms and he clearly read through them before entering the room which I really appreciate. He took the time to get to know me and came up with a plan that works for me. I’m looking forward to feeling better.
