Dr. Sean Houston has built his career caring for both children and adults with a wide range of ear, nose, and throat concerns. His work has earned recognition from patients and fellow physicians alike, including two Patient Choice Awards and selection by his peers as one of New Jersey Monthly's Top Doctors. His care of children with eustachian tube dysfunction was also featured by the Asbury Park Press.
Beyond his work with patients at Coastal Ear, Nose and Throat, Dr. Houston is involved in educating the next generation of physicians as a clinical instructor for the residency program at Jersey Shore University Medical Center. He was promoted to senior attending in the hospital's Department of Surgery in 2021 and has shared his knowledge as a featured speaker at the Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery Annual Conference and as a contributing author to Decision Making in Ear, Nose and Throat Disorders.
Dr. Houston began his medical education at Georgetown University, where he earned his undergraduate degree in biology before continuing at Georgetown University School of Medicine for his medical degree. He then completed his internship and residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
He is board-certified in pediatric and adult otolaryngology and is affiliated with Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Bayshore Community Medical Center, and Southern Ocean Medical Center.
As a comprehensive otolaryngologist, Dr. Houston treats ear, nose, and throat conditions across all stages of life. His experience spans both pediatric and adult ENT care, allowing families to turn to him for concerns affecting patients from childhood through adulthood. He has particular experience caring for children with eustachian tube dysfunction and provides both medical and surgical treatment for a broad range of ENT conditions.
