Brow Lift in Neptune and Holmdel, NJ

As the eyebrows gradually settle lower with age, your eyes can begin to look heavier, and your face may appear tired, worried, or serious even when you're at rest. Brow lift surgery, also known as a forehead lift or browplasty, raises the eyebrows into a higher position to give you a more open, refreshed appearance while maintaining their natural shape and movement. Our facial plastic surgeons at Coastal Ear, Nose and Throat specialize in a variety of brow lift techniques, using minimally invasive techniques to create a more youthful overall look for men and women throughout Neptune and Holmdel, NJ and surrounding areas. Discover if you're a candidate for brow lift surgery by scheduling an appointment with our fellowship-trained provider.

During your consultation, our team will consider the position and shape of your brows and forehead and how they frame the eyes to determine if you might benefit from browplasty, blepharoplasty, or both. We'll also discuss changes you've noticed in your upper face and review your goals to ensure your surgical plan is custom-tailored for better results.

Brow lift surgery is performed using anesthesia and carefully positioned incisions. Different techniques allow these incisions to be placed within the hairline, near it, or in the natural creases of your skin, depending on your anatomy and the amount of lifting needed. Through these areas, your surgeon will reposition the brow tissues and elevate the eyebrows to create a more open appearance around the eyes. The goal is not to create dramatically raised brows, but to position them around your natural shape and facial proportions so you still look like yourself, only younger and more rested.

Lifting the brow can also change the appearance of the eye area. More of the upper eyelid may become visible, heaviness above the eyes can diminish, and your expression can appear brighter and more relaxed. Some of the benefits of brow lift surgery performed by our experienced, board-certified, and fellowship-trained provider at Coastal Ear, Nose and Throat include:

  • Opening up a heavy-looking area above your eyes
  • Creating a more rested and refreshed expression
  • Lifting eyebrows that have gradually descended
  • Softening a tired, worried, or serious appearance
  • Bringing greater definition back to your natural brow shape

Do I need a brow lift or a facelift?

The answer to this depends primarily on where you are seeing changes. A brow lift focuses on the upper face, raising descended eyebrows and reducing heaviness around the forehead and eyes. A facelift addresses aging farther down the face, including the cheeks, jowls, and jawline. In some cases, both procedures might be combined for a more transformative change.

What's the difference between a brow lift and an eyelid lift?

A brow lift raises eyebrows that have moved downward, while an eyelid lift (or blepharoplasty) removes or adjusts excess skin and fat directly around the eyelids. The distinction is important because a low brow can sometimes contribute to the heaviness you see above your eyes. If both your brow position and eyelid skin are contributing, treating the two areas together may give you the result you are looking for.

Will my brow lift look natural?

Rather than simply lifting the eyebrows as high as possible, our team at Coastal Ear, Nose and Throat considers their natural shape, position, and relationship to the rest of your face. The intention is to bring the brows into a more youthful position while preserving natural movement and expression.

How long will my brow lift results last?

Brow lift results can remain noticeable for many years. Your eyebrows will continue to change as your face naturally ages, but they will start from the higher, more youthful position created during surgery. Genetics, skin quality, sun exposure, and other factors can influence how your results change over time.

Do you offer nonsurgical brow lift alternatives?

Coastal Ear, Nose and Throat is proud to offer both BOTOX® and dermal filler injections as a nonsurgical alternative for certain cosmetic surgeries, including brow lifts. These treatments cannot produce the same degree of lifting as brow lift surgery, but they may be worth considering for patients who are just starting to notice early signs of aging or those who aren't ready for facial plastic surgery.
