They have always treated since I had cancer that started at the base of my tongue and spread to the right side of my neck and then to my right arm pit. Dr. Mary removed the tumors and arranged for my radiation therapy and my chemo. The doctors decided I should have the radiation and chemo at the same time, which back in 2000 was something new and I would be their first patient to have it done. 26 years later proved they were right. I now follow up with Dr. Newkirk and of course trust him completely. They are an outstanding medical group!"

We found a mass in my 16 year old son’s neck about 1 year ago.. they were just amazing through the entire experience. Dr Newkirk speaks and performs with such confidence and knowledge . A stressful time for a mom and they made me feel so confident. A scary surgery for my 16 year old son and they were so patient and understanding with him through his anxiety . "I first came to Coastal ENT and was seen by Dr. McAfee, and he was wonderful, confident, and I knew it was in good hands. His staff, Kyle and Bri and Meghan all wonderful. Kyle was a godsend, very thorough and call back waz top notch. Bri was a comfort right before the Dr wanted to do a camera scope to see my thyroid and laryngeal area etc. Her demeanor was a familiar vibe to me, so Dr. McAfee had me scheduled CT scan. Once completed, I was too nervous towait for the next appointment as I was/am pretty anxious to say the least. Kyle heard my angst and scheduled me w Dr Newkirk the following week. "Anything dealing with the ears can be terrifying, especially for a child. But Dr.Newkirk and his assistant, were amazing. He is the best and knows exactly what he is doing. They made my child feel so relaxed and comfortable that she didn’t feel a thing. As soon as you walk into the office, the staff greets you in a pleasant way. They work fast to get you in and out but the doctor is very patient. Another representative by the name of Kimberly R. helped us the last time we were there and made my child smile because she was so nervous and scared. "Dr. Newkirk and his nurse Kristen are awesome! Kristin was thorough and on top of forms I needed filled out for my work . Dr. Newkirk was the 6th Dr. I saw for my issue which is common but not the particulararea. Surgery went well and so far happy with the results.I'm not nuts over the desk staff. The mexican girl with the blonde streaks is attitudinal. She told me I saw she was available. After I was standing there waiting for a few minutes and another patient came in and she addressed him and asked how she could help him. I asked why I wasn't next. That was her response to me. I thought it was her job to ask if I needed help etc,Not mine . I thought she was still doing something in a patients chart on her computer. The older lady who I think is in charge of the desk always seems bothered or annoyed at everything. I've never been there and seen her pleasant. She sits to the right of the desk when you walk straight in to the desk. The rest of the staff seems pleasant and nice though. I gave it a 5 star because a few bad eggs shouldn't ruin it all !"

"Dr. NewKirk saved my life! I had a hematoma in my neck. He had to perform emergency surgery at Jersey Shore Medical Center. He let us know 2x before surgery, that I could have a stroke. He also had to inform my husband during surgery, that he needed to insert a trach, and there was a possibility of suffocation. I will forever be grateful to God for using Dr. NewKirk to restore healing and new life! His team of doctors & nurses took great care of me in the hospital throughout my recovery!"

Patients are of all ages, the office is very clean, the staff very courteous, friendly and accommodating. It is a very busy office but appears to be staffed adequately. I love that they have a separate, closed off waiting area for parents with children too!Love Dr. Newkirk! He is very thorough, asks questions and listens to the answers before jumping to conclusions.
