"My daughter is 3 and a half years old and has had consistent issues with her ears since probably birth. She was an extremely fussy baby and equally as a toddler and kid. Constantly saying her ears hurt.Numerous doctors dismissed us even after ruptured ear drum, “her ear infections aren’t often enough”, “there’s fluid but let’s keep an eye on her” (sorry am I supposed to pull out my otoscope?). I even ended up at the emergency room in the middle of the night for an ear infection with my daughter in a CAT scan machine but it wasn’t enough for another ENT to recommend ear tubes.Thank you Dr. Engel for listening, caring and finally helping my girl. Your bedside manner was excellent and your expertise was evident. My only regret is not seeking you out sooner. If you’re a fed up mom like me, I highly recommend this expert doctor."

"After seeing 2 previous ENT’s who completely ignored my concerns which led to my daughter having 4 ear infections, fluid a ruptured ear drum and constant pain for 4 months. I made a final plea and saw Dr. Engle. He truly listened from the moment he came into the room. My daughter was scheduled for ear tubes 1 week after the appointment with Dr Engle. The surgery was fast, and Dr Engle came in before and after, he even carried my 1 year old to the operation room. I’m so grateful to have found a knowledgeable, and caring ENT."

"Coastal ENT is wonderful. We have visited both the Holmdel and Neptune locations. The locations are clean and inviting. But, what is even more noticable, the staff are mostly all pleasant and compassionate, especially Dr. Bones and Dr. Engel!!! Dr. Bones and Dr. Engel are both thorough, patient, empathetic, and personable. They make us feel validated and understood. The service they provide is phenomenal. I highly recommend visiting Coastal ENT."

"My daughter had a ruptured eardrum from an ear infection. I called and left a message. They called me back the next day and got her in within two days to our preferred Doctor Who is Dr. Engel.. we only waited. Five minutes in the waiting room took us into the room. He came in and within three minutes he knew what cause my daughter’s eardrum to rupture and gave us a care plan. He always is very caring and never rushes our appointments"

"Dr. Engel is great. He is so gentle with the little ones especially. My daughter did a crazy thing by putting a rock in her ear at school. She pushed it all the way in when she tried to get it out. She just turned 5 and yes kids do crazy things. Multiple people in other offices tried to remove it which traumatized her. Dr. Engel saw her and said let’s do it the right way in a sterile environment. The day of came and my daughter had a hard time trusting she wouldn’t feel pain. I picked her up and she went to Dr Engel. Kids know who cares for them. It’s a feeling I can’t describe. Within minutes he came out and made me the happiest mama. Thank you so much for making such a crazy thing easy. His staff is great too and can’t forget that."

"Dr. Engel was very conservatively professional in every way during a recent visit with him for a second opinion ENT evaluation for my young client and his parents. He listened attentively to the parents historical recount of concerns and problems perceived or real. He performed an Otoscopy on the youngster to diagnose a left ear infection and prescribed antibiotic treatment.Essentially, Dr. Engel was consulted for possible ear tubes insertion surgery for the youngster relative to recurrent ear infections. This client however, has other ENT issues, and per all relevant diagnostics test, besides the ear tubes, requires (MLB study to measure for accuracy of longer version of his current custom made Tracheotomy tube, Adenoidectomy, Cleft Palate repair etc.).Dr. Engel was appreciative of the compliment implicit in the second opinion consultation with him. He was however, professionally firm and prudent in expressing his personal, professional, and operational limitations for the desired surgical interventions. Most impressively, he advised that the one surgical procedure under general anesthesia, could be used to cost-efficiently and comprehensively address all of the youngsters needs given parents‘ trust in the surgeon and operational entity organization.To this end, upon request and after careful consideration, he amenably recommended consultation recommended follow-up consultation with his peer others in several organizations."

"We have been going to Coastal Ear Nose Throat for many years and can confidently say our experiences have been nothing short of exceptional.Dr. Engel, our otolaryngologist, has a warm, friendly bedside manner and immediately puts my daughter at ease. He is very thorough and takes the time to go through history, explain the process and engage with the patient. I highly recommend him to anyone that is seeking an ENT.Dr.Parker, our audiologist, is in a class by herself! She also has a warm, friendly bedside manner and also takes the time to explain procedures, address concerns & will even offer suggestions. She has taken the time to explain an audiogram to my daughter as well as has gone the extra mile in procuring her solutions for her accommodations at my daughter’s part time job. She is a strong advocate for her patients and we are incredibly thankful to be under her care.The staff are wonderful at Coastal, appointments run on time and they are always so kind and courteous. In the seven years we have been going there, we have always been seen on time!Highly recommend this practice!"

"I love the entire office - been going to Dr Houston for literally 20 years. Never an issue - he is wonderful as was Dr. Mitskavich. Dr. Macafee is also fabulous and funny. I have had only two issues in 20 years, and they were not with Dr. Houston or Mitskavich. The one time I had Dr. Engel he rushed the visit, and Dr. Bucholtz DEF does not want to be there, or, he hates the elderly. Has no patience with my father EVER. Borders on rude. He needs to check himself and be nicer to old people. If he doesn't like his job, he should go elsewhere. I am going to take my Dad to one of the other doctors there in the future. I don't normally complain, but I've had it with that guy. Just not nice."
